(60cm x 80 cm)
A resin painting using texture mediums, acrylic and glitter on 16mm plywood board. It depicts the mood, strength and self-discovery one feels after enduring a storm. Appreciating the calmness in our lives is something; which we seldom do. All of our energies are consumed by the turbulent times we endure and; once on the other side, we are consumed with negative thoughts such as “why me” and reminiscing about life before the storm. How often do we sit and enjoy the calmness that follows and take pride in the fact that we made it through? Do we recognize and value the rocks that helped us to weather those turbulent times? Storms will come, but they will pass, never forget to hold dear the rocks that stood tall and firm to shoulder your weight through them, be it your Lord, your faith, your loved ones or even your own fighting spirit and attitude.

This sculpture is made of a combination between resin, resin free-form sculpture, acrylic, crystals and glitter on wood. It is a depiction of the miracle performed by Prophet Musa (Moses) (peace be upon him) where the split the Red Sea. This story is dear to all three Abrahamic religions but also resonates to many other religions as its a display of courage, unwavering faith and immense love for his people. In today’s times when we are witnessing/hearing of so many injustices we often feel helpless, but we can certainly take inspiration from this that with enough faith and love for each other we too can do miraculous things.
